Richard Branson famously lectures on the importance of delegation: “I learned very early in my career that one of the smartest things a leader can do is hire people who excel in areas they are weaker in.” He credits his own success to being able to match the right people with the right tasks and to trust them to do what they’re good at – letting him get on with devoting his attention to the ‘bigger picture’…
ANOINT SKINCARE: CASE STUDY
Erica Wells is a Waiheke entrepeneur and busy work-from-home mum. She is one of an increasing number of ambitious creative people choosing to combine work and family life in today’s business environment, without compromising either.
Erica has worked hard on developing her beautifully handcrafted range of artisan skincare products with its clever use of upcycled packaging. But she was continually frustrated by retailers using poorly executed images to promote her products in newspapers and magazines. Like many small business operators, she also values her creative time and understands that in order to grow the business and continue to innovate, she needs to be able to channel her energies into the areas she is most skilled at.
Erica had a vision for how she wanted her products to be represented, but lacked the expertise necessary to transform that vision into a collection of consistent, great looking, properly colour matched, product images, suitable for widespread distribution.
Using her own snapshots as a guideline, Wayfarer produced a set of crisp and professional clearcut product images that gave Erica the confidence to move her business forward with renewed enthusiasm…
